I think I know what's wrong with mine.
There's was a mark on the slide bar, as though the edge of a tile had hit it & chipped it & as I pushed my handle by this mark its grooved the inside of my handle.
I might need to take a fine file to the inside of the handle to get rid of any grooves.

Sounds more like removing the rifling from a barrel!
