I was told years ago, NEVER lubricate the bar
Just keep it clean and DRY

I use WD40 as it's usually handy but only need to spray a cutter if it's not been used in a few weeks. By right they should just be kept clean and wiped down daily to stop them sticking in the first place though.

Even gun oil will build up gunk etc.To assure the best protection of the metal on the tile cutter you can clean the parts first with oil.Basically clean them with oil,then wipe them dry with clean cloths till they are bone dry.Then re-lubricate the parts that need it.Personally I think WD40 will do the same thing as any other oil!

I oil at the end of the day and wipe clean,but should I be on this thread I am one of those Rubi tilers.But I am thinking of crossing over to the dark side.
