Yes the line should be pretty much the same thickness all the way down, unless the walls are way out off line, but if they were then the tiler should of advised this before starting out.

dave...would black Silicon not look just as odd with the rest being silver/grey? The white Silicon is used in the most random of places!

Blacks gonna look far better than white, even better is to try match the grout.
