Silicon

I've purchased a fugi kit to try out after reading about them on here, I've always been a finger and washing up liquid man and I make a good job, but, with a job coming up that requires black Silicon and white tiles, I thought it might be worth a try with this kit. Question is, how do you lubricate the tool? Spray something on the Silicon?

I didn't lubricate the tool, the washing up liquid solution will do that.

I mean, I normally put my finger in the washing up liquid and water and smooth it. Do you dip the tool in, or spray it on the Silicon instead

Mix up a water / washing up liquid solution in a squeezy bottle and spray the Silicon and go onto it.....it works. I must admit, before I did that, I did run along it quickly with a licked finger to push the sealant into all edges and get it stuck fast.....

I'm not very enabled with Silicon.
I do very little, but every time I do I problem ...

It take a bit of practice, best way is to make some internal corners, especially 3 joint corners, with cuts of left over tiles. You need to make sure you don't use too much silicon otherwise it starts getting messy.

It does take time but the finish you get is superior

First pic I had to use masking tape and the old finger as it was just not feasible to use the Fugi tool because of the relief of the wall tile

Ile give it a go then without any lubrication. I just assumed, as you can't do that with your finger.

Jeez, I must admit, internal corners still fox me. I try to do the down runs on the first occasion, then go back later (once touch dry) to do the other floor / ceiling bisecting pass.
