skirting tiles??

haha. new tiler here. just trying to gather up bits and pieces of things.

just finishes nvq and i know when out in the real world you dont have those nice square and flat wall and floors to tile onto.

whats the highest you would go with floor tile??

sorry my mistake.:mad2:

highest you would go with skirt tile?

is there a limit. i know to high would be silly looking!!

4-5 inch at the most, you can buy tile skirting with a curve on them which comes in at 100mm

am tiling a kitchen tomorow. when cutting skirt tile, would the good edge of tile be next to the floor tile and the cut edge be at trim??

The cut edge would be against the floor tile, The trouble with tiles now they rarely have finished edges so a trim maybe a good idea for the top of the tile/skirting.

thanks whitebeam

my tiles are 550 x 550. so if i was cutting a full tile to use as skirting, ill cut my 100mm tile skirt. so am left with the cut edge and the good edge.

cut edge always to the floor???

Yes mate and perhaps run a thin line of Silicon between the floor tile and skirting one so it looks neat, use a Silicon that matchs the grout colour:thumbsup:
