I know this isn't nice but some part of me loves it, when in situations like this it all goes wrong for the customer,
theyve had you work for them, they know the quality of your work and the manner in which you work, you don't live in a mansion driving a Bentley and holiday home in Marbella, so clearly your just making an honest living and they want to slice you down,

In fairness, everyone should get more than one quote.
When I quote anything like this , niot only do I give the prices but also a written itemised method of working. Not sure what the other quote said apart from the price...although I was told they had included Ditra.

I'm the same. I list every stage, products to be used and prices. Sure some people may try to do the job themselves or get the cheaper guy to use the products I've specced but I lose very few quotes and I'm often not the cheapest quote

Had 1 last week 95m2, 2 expansion joints (7m x2) plus tile upstands. £1200.00 including mats. Didn't bother giving him my quote lol.

I lost one myself lately, lift, level and fit trav over 70m2.
I priced keenly as we have to do over here and was beat by £500 ! ridiculous

I just wish the clients would think about it...would they work for so little ? I reckon the other guy quoting is working for less than £150 after materials !
