Slate Sealant

Really Don't Recommend Mixing Products Have Used Lithofin Products For A Few Years Now And Never Had Any Probs. As For The Impregnator Totaly Agree With Gaz Would Never Use It On Slate As Its Not Really Suitable For That Type Of Natural Stone.

Yet My Local Topps Tiles Used To Sell It Until Recently!basically Am I Within My Rights To Say To My Tiler He Has Put Somthing Unsuitable On And Asking Him To Remove It?

Not So Much Not Suitable Just A Bit Old School Compared To Products On The Market Now . Impregnator Is Usaully Combined With Hg Golv Polish.
Most Products Now Are Single Use Products Not Multiple If You Get Drift.

yep, i think so, ive rang tile it all as well and they recomend the hg impregnator, they say that if my tiler hasnt wiped the excess of the tiles it will have sat on the top rather than absorb(although that is different advice from earlier as my undertanding was it was sealant and not absorbed into the tile!). basically what should i ask the tiler to do? remove it all and put somthing else on or clean up the tiles effected so far with gh stain remover and then put more hg impreginator over the whole lot, including the ones that arnt damaged?

i would ask him to remove HG stuff off effected tiles, use the HG remover on stained area before re-sealing it.Another light coat of impregnator over the lot including grout lines wouldn't do any harm,it's a try it and see job i'm afraid.

Use The Cleaner On Affected Area, Impregnate Then Whole Floor With Golv Polish , Other Wise You Will Have Strip Whole Floor If You Use Different Product To Seal Slate

does the golv polish make the floor shiney? we wanted the matt slate look, although right now i would settle for the not messed up look!

I Would Say More A Semi Gloss Finish. Also Thing Is With These Older Products ,as Explained On The Bottle Have To Be Removed Annually To Retain There Luster
