H hillhead Dec 14, 2009 #8 slate is nice to lay,rough and natural ! you might need to grade it into different thicknessess
D doug boardley Dec 14, 2009 #9 use an impregnating sealer, I normally give the slate a coat before fixing and a coat after grouting. Store slate inside before cleaning transport and scuff marks, so making sure it's bone dry before you apply your first coat of sealer
