Went to a customers house today and delivered some tiles, as our driver was on that horrible thing called HOLIDAYS, customer asked me to look at their conservatory floor. Should SLC look like this?

We did not supply SLC, and i dont know brand as the conservatory company done it, its very very uneven. They was told tiler would get over it!

Have a look, see what u think.

definitely too much water used ,some levelling compounds come in 25kg bags and require 6-6.5 ltrs of water most come in 20kgs bag and only need 4-5 ltrs of water unfortunately most people who are inexperienced with slc use too much water as they think that by doing so it will self level which is a common error you will need to remove the white layer which is latience and redo it correctly

Customer did say they told them they had run out and had to add water to make it go further! It was a mess! i reckon 20mm out in some places. No cracks yet though. Just shoddy work.

Concrete was crumbly said customer. I dread to think how much money the customer had spent with the firm not only conservatory but whole 4 bed house double glazed by same company!

Fitter told them not to open bifold doors for 2 weeks to let Silicon go off!:mad2:

As they had laid a new floor i could not understand why they had to SLC.

We see this all the time, will take pics in future to post on forum.

Like i said they was told "TILER WOULD GET OVER IT" lol.
