I've got a 30 metre floor to do with 45 x 45 cm porcelain onto 18mm ply screwed every 300mm and Mapei technical have just confirmed to me that Mapeker is fine to use. At least that will save me a few quid rather than using Keraquick. More drinking money for me:8:

As long as you use 18mm ply, there's no need to use keraquick anymore tubs according to technical and that data sheet.

Just wish everything was plyed with 18mm, save some money as well on mats!!

What's the point of buying Keraquick, when Mapeker now does the same job and is a lot cheaper, i shan't be buying Keraquick anymore.

Mapeker is only advisble on small floors...say 2 or 3 mtrs.....so kearaquick is still required....

In-fact use keraquick all the time...they just say that mapeker could be used if needed on small floors...

So lets not go silly and start tiling all timber floors with mapeker please...

There is only a couple quid between the 2 adhesves anyway so use keraquick i say...and make sure they stop down..

Not According to there technical department i called before tiling, i've just laid a 30 metre floor with the stuff in which they said it would be fine. that's not a small area IMO, seems to be some confusion on this. Have Mapei got this in writing Dave that it can only be used on small area's?

It's just something i was told by a rep a while back.....even if technical say that you could do a large floor with it then i would still use keraquick imo...

But as long as tech say it's ok then thats their call.....you can tell when you mix mapeker that it is pretty modified but keraquick is even more modified so i prefer to use what i know will work with no probs...and in the extreme case mix keraquick with latex plus ....super flexi...

Keraquick is Mapei's belt and braces product, its an S1 and can be made to S2 by mixing with Latex Plus. Mapeker is not a S1 classification - which is why we state 18mm overboarded ply only. Not all jobs use this thickness anything less then use keraquick. Keraquick & Latex Plus S2 is a competively priced product when compared with other s2 adhesives.
