Trumpers you really should stick to what the recommendations state for fixing ply.15mm. If you decide to go less you really are gambling? Not worth it mate?

My advise. Keraquick...It's the best on the market..

just for future reference could i use Keraquick for 9 or 12mm ply?

It is always advisable to use at least 15mm ply. But, yes, you can use Keraquick on 9 or 12 (But it would need to be mixed with Latex Plus making it a S2 adhesive)

The 'new' Mapeker is a very good product (Just make sure you are getting the 'new' one if you plan on using it for overboarded ply or UFH)

Dear All

Mapeker has been tested for use on either overboarded existing timber bases i.e. minimum 15mm exterior or WBP plywood screw fixed at maximum 300mm centres over an existing timber base screw fixed to joists OR underfloor heating (not under tile unless on a solid base and encapsulated in a suitable self leveller systems and found to perform satisfactorily.

Basically we have been under selling the product!!

However Keraquick is rated S1 to EN12002 in terms of its deformability. It is a higher specification product and its adhesion and flexibility will be better and its water absorption less than Mapeker. Hence it can be used to tile on to under tile heating without the requirement to encapsulate with a levelling screed

Keraquick is a better performing product in given exacting conditions. It can be used on to under tile heating over a plywood overlayed floor where as Mapeker is for eitherunderfloor heating (timber) or under tile heating (solid structure) but not both in combination.

So it depends on the job and subsequent service conditions but Mapeker can give a more cost effective option to the customer in certain conditions.

FYI, My local CTD have a promotion on for Keraquick with Latex plus 'til the end of June so price is not an issue - assuming your local CTD is doing the same deal!!:thumbsup:

LOL!

Our local CTD don't stock Mapai!

It seems they fell out with the South West Region.

Just used 7 bags of mapeker this week on a floor(porcelain) 30m2.
I have used it on the same development in about 20 houses now, lovely stuff to use on screed floors, takes plenty of water too, the 10% extra is very nice at the minute,i have another 20 bags to get this week, hehe.
Well done Mapei.
