Well I had to Google BODMAS, I was certainly not taught this at school (I'm 50 next year). I was taught everything in brackets first, then work the sum left to right.

I saw a similar thing before and I think young Mr Benton mentioned BODMAS and that was the first time in my 56 years on this planet that I'd ever heard of it.

In fact if you do 2 + 1 +1 x 7 on a calculator, it gives 10 as the answer.

Well I was taught to A level maths, and I’d never seen it before.

Well in my few Google searches about this today it appears there can be two answers to the same equation depending if you use BODMAS or not. I've not even started to figure out when you do or don't apply it.
