Hi all,

Although I am confident I can tile walls and floors to a high standard I have not had many different jobs to complete, ie surfaces, materials etc, just simple old ceramics. I am definetly going on a short course although I haven't decided which yet. My question is will I learn about all materials as I would hate to be presented with a potential customer who for example wants marble or slate, what course covers all materials and cutting techniques, the line "Sorry mate I never learn't that" can also translate to "Yep I'm crap tell all your friends".

The process of fixing any tile is the same....some are ceramic and some are not, natural stone, slate etc..have to be sealed and cut with wet saw.and choice of adhesive may differ..apart from that..the methods of fixing remain the same......Gaz

Aye, smother enough adhesive onto the tile to create a ball, shut ye eyes and sling it at the wall, can be done with ceramic, porcelain or any natural stone :rolleyes2:

I'm pleased someone else uses this technique aswell, thought I was the only one 😉
