Yeah, generally you'll get spam that's just guessing your email address and there's no way to stop receiving those but you may be able to get them noted as spam automatically or manually and then sometimes the email program will learn what you class as spam. Then there's the type that has found your email address on the internet somewhere and collects as many as they can and then they'll send you spam which is managed again as above.

There's no real way of stopping it fully but if you have a good spam filter you should find it'll clock most of the spam for you and move it automatically as there are tell tale signs as to which email has been manually written and which email is automated and the spam filters are often pretty good at spotting those ones.

On the server we have MailFoundry and pay for it on a monthly basis and it's pretty good but still doesn't catch them all.

I am being inundated with spam, all the same thing, they offer loads of money etc etc. I always just delete them without reading but they have gone crazy over the last month or so, every time I check my email I have at least 10/15 of them. Can they be stopped?

TRy altering the way your email is viewed in your signature..

Try saying email HERE.. and link within the text via the insert email address in post reply tools.

Another point with emails, just recently if I click on any email address nothing happens, It used to open up a correspondence box but now it seems dead, any ideas computer guys?

It will / should only open up a new message box if it's a hyperlink, underlined email address, if it's not and it should be, maybe there's a setting changed, what program are you using for email ?

I use a product called Mailwasher pro. Good bit of software and great value. This will download headers so you can see where they are from and allocate any mail not automatically marked as spam for deletion. It is very flexible and does give automatic deletion if required, though I always check mine first as some business mail is marked as spam by default as the domain is blacklisted.

Check it out at Firetrust | Creators of MailWasher Pro, MailWasher Server, Benign and other email security software
