Start a new Company - what bank is good, other tips ?

Hi, I received a large lump sum inheritance from a lovely elderly Christian lady, as well as winning the Nigerian Lottery jackpot. I have been blessed and wish to help you. I would be willing to give you a $50,000 loan to start up your business venture. I will send the money by Western Union. Can you send me your account number so I can send the money ASAP. I will require ID and a $500 handling charge to ensure the funds are transferred securely. Please contact me quickly so we can get your business venture moving.

If you let me have your name, address, date of birth, sort code, account number and pin number I can arrange security on your said accounts and set everything up for you - no cost!
Thank you please 🙂

I together with a friend we registered now a small company for tiling.

We have now to make decisions.

Can someone recomend me a good bank ?

And how I know our tax number ? I suppose CH tell the tax people about our company - where I can find out the tax number ?

And what informations we have to write on offers and bills ?

And how to make the book keeping ? The most basical. We don't know nothing. A link to a good practical explanation ?

The only bank I would recommend to you is "Banks beer" best beer Ive tasted in Guiana.

Me and a friend we legalized our 'black' running tiling work now by opening a ltd at Companies House.

We have customers and use already our ltd, because of this we urgently have to made now certain basical decisions.

The most important is, if we make everything as a 'service', and then pay taxes, social security etc in England, or a 'filial' or branche registered in French Guyana which also belongs to the European Union and then would pay taxes, social etc in France.

Unfortunately, we understand absolutely nothing about bookkeeping. Anyway we'ld have to learn how to do this, so its not a big diference if to have to learn the french or english way. Perhaps someone knows an url to a good explanation.

Also, we get already plenty checks from the customers, and we should decide this for finally open a bank acount, either in England or in France.

So where do the customers check for your work?
Do you have a web site?
What's your company's name?

Werner it sounds like you have sorted most of the important things needed to start a successful business here in the UK.
Being a tilers forum member and having a catchy business name like 'black' running tiling work Ltd shows inquisitive and a good foundation on which to build a successful business.
Things you will need to iron out are small minor problems like a bank account and in what country to open it in.
As a rule of thumb, you should have your bank account in the country where your LTD business is. Makes it much easier to deposit and withdraw funds.
Company's house should have explained all of this when you took the time to register your business. "But this is typical of them".
Asking where to pay your taxes will show how business smart you are to our government, as most migrant workers try to work cash in hand.
I wouldn't mention social security when you first arrive as this is only open to our Polish and Romanian tilers who need money for there family's back home.
Other Taxes you will need to pay are Taxis at the airport. Don't use ones at the taxi rank always use private hire.
You will be amazed how many people will try to scam you when you first arrive.

For small works, it's possible that we continue to work 'black'. However, to take bigger work, inclusive in government building construction, we have to have an official company. In France is everything complicated and expensive, inclusive unlike in the most european countries tiling a 'regulated' service, thus by many reasons it was good or even necessary to open an english and not a french company.

There, we have still the option, either to work as a "service" (if single services don't take more than one year), or to open a local "filial/agency", but in the last case also things becoming dependent on french formalities and everything becomes comlicated or even impossible. For not to make the bookkeeping, tax / social declarations etc double, or more general to not depend on french things at all, it's consequent to open also a bank account in England. Meanwhile we also get checks from the first customers and we have to deposit them.

So we have now to decide if we make everything in England or in France. The questions here were to give us more informations.
