I stopped once about 15 years ago, and the woman had ran out of pertol, nearly midnight, so I had a gallon in the boot, popped it in her can and off we went.
I guess I'd do the same again if I saw a woman broken down, though I would think twice maybe nowadays, but would probably still stop.
