Tanking price

Tanked a new build shower today, amazed that the builder listened to me.
I reckon it took me 4hrs by the time I cut the tapes & put 2 coats of paste on the walls (3 sided shower 900x760)
£80 for the 4hrs work & £50 for the paste roughly so not far away at £150- £200 for the completed job.

I told the plumber to ditch the classi seal as I was tanking it.
Mapegum with Mapei tape.

Out of interest have you called Mapei technical support to ask if this would invalidate the guarantee they offer? Would be interested to find out.

I use tm tanking kit , seems good and its in with the price if they want it

By using two different manufacturers I cant imagine they'd guarantee it at all, but to me it's a no brainer, how can it go wrong

I prfer to use a self adhesive tape in this system as well

If it's fitted correct then it would be ok but I find the plumbers leave too much Silicon on the top edge & leaves you with a lip at the bottom of the tile.
