I use steel rulers too when cutting and marking tiles ,I have a steel metre ruler as use this whenever i do large format and diagonal also have a 600mm sliding square which also comes in very handy at times ,for setting out I was given a schluter 5m tape measure by a supplier and have a cheap 8m tape measure for the large roomsGuys if u want to improving your measuring accuracy use a steel ruler, ive got a 30 and a 40 cm.
hardley ever use the tape its mostly for setting out.
Also much quicker if u scribe and cut as well
Steel rulers dont wear out either.
