One of my major failings in life Pete. I never want to offend anybody - can lead to all sorts of problems sometimes:yes:
Grumps thats why you make a good moderator and someone like me would make a complete arse of it but i would be the one of the first to help anybody if i could

hi fekin

its not a dumb question at all.

a feather edge is very similar to an alliminium straight edge but where as one side is flat (straight edge) the other end tapers to a fine pointed edge.
they are used to plane off finishing plasters and screeds and designed to get into corners were the straight edge has difficulty.

just to add that there are 2 types of feather edge, h-section, used for plaster backing coats and one coat projection plastering (machine plastering) and trapezium. a tiler would go for the trapezium section ;0)

pps refina make the best mixing drills in the world, german made and built to cope with anything you can throw at them!!!
