Techniques for checking levels for a floor

i tend to use the old fashion way myself

fire a lazer across the room and measure down from the red/blue/yellow line
you can pick up a lazer these days for a tenner saves you hours messing about

This is going to be a dumb question, but what's a feather edge ?

its not a dumb question at all.

a feather edge is very similar to an alliminium straight edge but where as one side is flat (straight edge) the other end tapers to a fine pointed edge.
they are used to plane off finishing plasters and screeds and designed to get into corners were the straight edge has difficulty.

just to add that there are 2 types of feather edge, h-section, used for plaster backing coats and one coat projection plastering (machine plastering) and trapezium. a tiler would go for the trapezium section ;0)

pps refina make the best mixing drills in the world, german made and built to cope with anything you can throw at them!!!

Agree with the other guys the eibenstock mixers are the dogs nuts, Durk sprung technic as they in germany.
