sorry to hear about this Fred.

how old is your Berlingo? the reason I ask is that hubby reckons the newer Berlingo's have alarms fitted as standard now. If anything, a noisy alarm might put off future opportunists. The numpty that stole your cutter probably doesn't even know what it's for...

And another nugget of info from hubby.. he tells me you can now get van space sized secure trucks that you can wheel in and out of your van and then store somewhere else when you don't want your tools in the van. I'd never even heard of such a thing, but I guess as thieving still goes on, security companies will of course keep inventing such items.

Thanks Red, to your hubbie as well. My belingo is an 05 plate, has an immobiliser and thats it!

My Parents are often out in Florida and out there they have those cases you are on about. I was thinking of the secure trunk in the van, but it will take up so much space.

No worries Fred. Another option would be to install a CCTV camera to watch your van as it's parked outside your house. At least then you'd get a picture of any future tea-leafs!

Or how about buying a tea-leaf eating Rottweiler to live in your van overnight? Only feed it on red meat

i currently have a van with windows in the back and i try to keep it as tidy as possible so the scum can look inside for themselves and see theres nothing worth nicking. but im moving properties in a few weeks and will need to carry everything up stairs into the apartment  be nice to leave just buckets and inexpensive things behind in the van when i upgrade to one without rear windows... these locks look good and i understand each bracket boths on from the inside... but has anyone ever heard of them being bust open before? as they're obviously in use as theres valuables inside the van... surely a bit of determination from a smack head could get past them?
