Tile Crack - Advice Needed

Your ufh can't get too hot to crack a tile, it's what's under your ufh that can cause a crack.. Seems strange to me that the ditra is at the bottom of the makeup?

I assumed the weyroc boards were just there for protection and not fixed on top of Ditra.

Great, I'll put it back on then, thanks! I was so scared I'd completely messed up my bathroom by putting it on too high a temperature, so that's at least a relief! Ok, this again might sound really stupid but the Ditra is the orange stuff right? The boards on top of that were just there so I could use the toilet before they did the next stage. I do feel very confident that the people that fitted it were good, I can't really imagine it's anything they did. I'm going to hope that it is this glaze problem and that I have just been unobservant up until now! I am so appreciative of all your time replying to me!!

The ufh heating should really have been turned on slowly and commissioned over 6 days and not ramped up to full straight away, but you might have got away with it, touch wood (not ply) its a fault in the tile glaze 🙂

Thanks!! I hope so too! If there were any problems with this commissioning failure by myself, would they already have surfaced, or can it take time for them to show?

Your tile/ufh installer should have instructed you on starting up the ufh..
Like you say it may have been there a while but usually faults take time to develop

Ok thanks, do you have any idea how long I need to wait to be sure I'm safe from any side effects of not having done this? Also one more question - does this only need to be done when it is first installed, or would I need to do it after a period of non-use (I probably won't use it over the summer for example)

On the initial start up, adhesive needs about 2-3 weeks to cure properly...then a couple of degrees a day, running at temperature for about 3 days, then slowly bring it down per day to be sure.

Thanks, yes I didn't do this. What I'd like to know is, bearing in mind I didn't do this in late November, by what point in time would it be expected that any problems that were going to arise from it, would have happened?
