has someone "vandalised" the work?

only reason I ask is that I has a case I was involved in a while ago where the flooring contractor had laid vynil coverings and the following day when he came back they were all rucked up as if they had not stuck. I was called in to have a look as it was on my screed. Some savvy investigation led me to the conclusion that the client had been in overnight and pulled the coverings up. His reason was never exactly clear but I felt that he beleived that if he complained he would be able to get the flooring contractor to replace the floors and get it all for free.....call me a synic if you like but the construction industry is full of rum characters.....

Mix was a good thick mix not to wet and i just cant understand it.

If you use an adhesive bed that is above the recommended thickness then the adhesive can shrink as it dries.. this might be the cause of the small lipping.. If you have to bed above the usual 6mm final bed depth then it is wise to use a thick bed adhesive..
