tile trim around a window.

I put trim inside reveal, can't get my head around the other way :dizzy2:.

some people like to tile to the highest point at the facing wall at the reveals (and get a run of cuts) and at the top an insert the trim to the face tile ...this way you lay the trim flat in the mitre block to nget your cuts.Hope this makes sense to you.

i tile the window wall first, then cut the trim for the soffit ( top reveal ) trowel the area ,stick on trim and cut tiles and fix with a skim or back butter, then do both vertical reveals ,then the sill last , thats the way ive always did it..

for those that use trim cutters, you have to put the trims on the wall instead of the reveals.As the mitres dont match up, because the trim cutters cut the trims laid flat, as opposed upright like mitre boxes :dizzy2:

for what it's worth I do it with flange of trim into reveal, same as Briunk:

Me too generally, that way if you need to square up the window you can cut your tiles accordingly.

that's why I use my trim snips for sharpening my pencils, about all they're good for imo!!

You can still use trim snips for internal corners - just cut off a section of the flange and you can stand them up. Still, trim snips are cr*p and only use them for cutting trim straight and cutting Silicon tube nozzles.

Mmmmm, I don't know why or how it happened, but I always have the flange onto the wall and not reveal, I will try the other way just to compare.

I actually use mecahnical pencils so I don't need to keep sharpening the things!:lol:
