Re: Hall of shame....

my latest entry to this ever growing post...got called around to look at this job last week..the customer paid £800 3 months back for this job (14m2 walls/5m2 floor)...tiles were popping off around the bath/floor...broke the bad news that the lot's gotta come out and be done properly..the last pics are of the damage the guy did to the bath..especially like the way he tried to cover the big ding with paint!!..wow...just wow....

What is the matter with these cowboys!! :mad2:

Re: Hall of shame....

Judging by the ingress.. has there been a leak as well..?

Ply looks soaked.

spot on Dave..both tails leaking...and the shower head...not to mention the gaps in the grouting letting water behind the tiles...same guy who tiled it did the plumbing... he offers the 'complete service' ..apparently! I didn't ask how much he charged to put the suite in, the £800 was just for the tiling as I understood it

Re: Hall of shame....

Good post Jamie, it keeps getting worse. I suppose it keeps us guys/ gals going. But oh! the poor customer:mad2:

you've gotta feel sorry for them really...nice, normal people who's only mistake was to take someone on their word...wouldn't wish it on anyone to be completely re-doing a bathroom inside 3 months..and I imagine the fella's doing the same sorta job 4 someone else this week:mad2:

Re: Hall of shame....

its heartbreaking to see work like that , it would have looked a treat if done right

I said as much to the customers Mike, the only plus point is that a lot of the tiles will be re-usable due to the dot and dab fixing with a class C tubbed adhesive...we can rebuild it (in the words of the 6 million dollar man!)
