Tiles not set and falling off?

A mist coat is applied on new plaster, if you have peeling paint then the previous coats have been put just onto rubbish paint and the moisture from the addy could have pulled the paint.

Don't sound good on the paint department

If the paint is peeling the wall could have been pva'd already, this may be part of the problem with the tiles falling off. How long did you leave it before grouting?

i must admit this is scary , painted walls very weak substrate for fixing

get rid of the paint and use powderd adh prob solved :8:

Sounds like you have answerd your own problem if the paint is coming away it will have to be removed or the lot wil be a potential problem down line. Take them off clean wall get rid of paint if wall needs packing because of hollows use powder and job's a good one
