Tiling around pipes

can be a big mistake finishing off someone else's work i.e how do you know they have set out properly, you could be left with crap cuts at sinks, baths windows etc,so a bit of advice THINK TWICE.
I dont mean to sound harsh but get yourself some training before taking on projects like this, you have been warned.
i just felt i needed to make a POINT here!!! yes we all hate finishing off someones elses work, id rather not ie you dont know if its level, plumb decent cuts at top and bottom of wall, floor etc, BUT if i go into a bathroom and the job requires me to only go round the bath, i do not take the rest of the bathroom into consideration if its not getting tiled, i only concentrate on the job at hand, not my fault if the customer decides to tile rest of the bathroom 1 month later, and the tiles dont fall exactely into place, if its a full bathroom then i take everything into consideration if its about a bath then i only take that into consideration, look daft only tiling round bath and having stupid cut up the edge of the bath cause it doesnt work out with rest of wall that isnt gettin tiled, so think twice before slagging off other tilers settin out!!!!!!!!

Hello, it may sound a bit of a daft question but when you have to snap a ceramic tile across hole centres to fix it over pipes do you have to glue it together as it is fixed on the wall? If so I'm thinking superglue as anything else will be too thick and open the cut. I'm asking as someone at work has got wind of me wanting to take up tiling and wants me to finish their bathroom. The tiling I'm going to do is a continuation of the tiling around the bath so I can't set the tiles so the pipes are at the edge of a tile. As luck would have it two water pipes exit the wall nearly bang in centre of a 20 x 30cm. tile in full view. Thanks a lot!
sorry m8 went on a ramble there, use a hole cutter if seen or split the tile if not seen then just stick it on the wall, dont put any adhesive between the split as this can make the split more prominent , if you split the tile right u can push the two halves together and hardly make out the split as they are from the 1 tile ie fits like a glove

Absolutly do not break the tile. Drill it. We supply a decent set of drills that will whizz through ceramic.

All you need is there...

i agree every time 365 HOLECUTTERS but not always possible when Pan And Sink are connected, didnt point that out in my previous post must have been still on the ramble

Thanks The Master. I've done the tiling for a work coleague and split the tile and all looks O.K. I had no choice as the pipes for the sink came up through the floor, went in to the wall above the skirting board and exited the wall again just below the sink and was told not to touch it. Was quite a bit of hassle as the tiles were thick and the pipes went into the wall at a shallow angle. Good experience though. Last time I do tiling after working a ten hour night shift.

May i suggest a mixture of both methods?
measure up and drill the holes in the required places and then split accordingly🙂
