Very good thread and some great reply's. Infact they are all so good i feel unworthy of leaving any serious post in here myself...... This could also be due to the fact i am completely stupid and a reply from myself would either end in a silly nob gag or with a large picture of my anus.

this is for wivs and tj.....lol lol lol.

You sound like you know wot your talkin about.I just finished a course two weeks ago,and since I work in a local builders supply have been handing out my number to alot of local builders. They all say they would need to see my work and getting in with them would be worth its weight in gold. Due to current economic stuff etc. things have slackened off alot but when I spoke to a local tiler he told me he is booked up for 6 months. He also said he would take me out when hes back working in the area. I have been told that I am good with people and have alot of customer service experience,At the minute its just getting those first jobs under my belt. Any input would be appreciated.
cheers

try advertising in local papers, let everyone you know your new career and things should start picking up for you, slowly at first, even if you have to keep advertising to get a few weeks work built up as long as your doing good jobs and leaving customers your contact details then work will come along in the future!

I did the NETT course 3 years ago and ive worked constantly and very hard to establish myself. You can earn very good money but as Darren says its not going to come knocking on your door. If your taught right and market yourself, do a first class job word starts to get around. A lot of my jobs are recommendations. This isnt going to hapen overnight ive had to build up numerous contacts, working 7 days a week and late night finishes. This is my 3rd year tiling and this year i feel all those late finishes are starting to pay off as i am now booked up most of april. Not everyone who does these courses is going to make it, you have to want it and give it 100%, have the right customer skills and attitude and prepared to work very hard. Thats my opinion anyway Cheers
