tiling courses in prison

was in local tile shop a week ago n was chattin to the manager,,he said a local company had been buying training addy for courses for tiling set up in local prison.

thoughts on this peeps?
my thoughts are it could be very dangerous for domestic customers not knowing what crackpots are working in there home but i suppose you could say that just now couldnt you. no one asks for qulaifications or anything like that

good point doug,personally i think it should be for punishment. only 1 person can reform themselves and thats the offender.

Hmm... no different to any other job training in prison, though, is it... otherwise people would never have the chance for a normal life after their sentence is up... depends on the offence, too... ooh, what a weird one....

No one knows there history and what the offence was but if they learn a trade perhaps a way to keep them on the straight and narrow, if there that way of repeat offending then very little training will help

still there is a lot of sex offenders in jail and a lot seem to be a serious threat when released and have tags etc attached.its a sticky situation.but we all be in peoples houses.do you think they would want us in if we had a bad conviction?

i know every man needs a chance.reform can work for some.but not all and thats what worries me.no licences for tilers yet.

I think its what Joe says, depends what they are locked up for.
I wouldnt want a convicted sex offender or thief in my house, reformed and time served so to speak, or not.
However everyone deserves a second chance, but training as a self employed tiler may not be the way to go for everyone and surely candidates are screaned.

Good luck to them i suppose and id prefer them working than on the dole and being sucked into a repeated life of crime

not nice tho, the thought of a convicted nonce or tealeaf in your house, those sort of offenders should have it tattoed on theyre forehead
