15 mm !!??:mad2: Wow, that is a lot of material to remove.

For us, the cost of labor is almost always more than the cost of material, so this suggestion might not work for you on a DIY project. If faced with this problem, and knowing that the floorboards can't be cut out, I would use a feather patch material and skim over all of that mess and not kill myself trying to get all that stuff off of there.

tiles are down, they werent kidding when they said the adhesive was rapidsetting, made up enough to do 6 at a time - got it down to a fine art (mixing the adhesive anyway).

Made a bit of a mess of 1 tile - behind the toilet pan.. not too bad though - can live with it. Giving the rapidset flexi its 3 hours before moving onto the grout now.

Just thought I'd update this since I'm doing a bit of tiling in the bathroom again - the tiles I put down are absolutely solid. Not even a hairline crack anywhere. This is 3 years later!! Big thanks to all the help you guys gave me. First time tiling so it's not amazing (mostly due to my inability to cut tile) but were happy with it lol :)
