Tiling onto slate bath panel.

Morning all! I've been asked to tile a slate bath panel using 600x300 ceramics. The panel has probably been on there for about 50 yrs and when I prime it it just runs off. Does anyone have any experience of tiling onto slate and if so what procedure would advise I followed in order to carry out the job successfully.

Surely it'll be easier/better to remove bath panel, and replace. :mad2:

Tried to tell him but he still wanted to keep them on. Will re advise as it looks silly as he has had all the bathroom done apart from this bath panel. Cheers cj (happen to be my initials too!)

from what your saying the guys off his head to leave it best removing as a bove
