For professional guys it can be very costly if the wrong stuff is used for a job. it is generally accepted that BAL SPF that you used is not suitable for tiling straight onto chipboard. Failures for a professional would not only cost money because of a call back under warranty, but more importantly, it can affect a hard earned reputation if word of failure gets around. We just can not take that chance. I have used a single part cementitous adhesive straight onto chipboard but not the BAL one. I used Ardexflex 7001 which is specially designed for the job, and was only a very small area (6m2).not sure what value the the last 2 responses add to a learning discussion.
surely reporting a success of SPF on chipboard is of interest, even to those who only use expensive 2 part adhesive and plywood overlay......in all situations?
has no one else had success with SPF on chipboard?
