tiling over UFH

Right, when people say not to tile until the UFH has been commissioned, does this mean, joined up to the electrics and fired up first? I'm Installing UFH for the first time next week, and I plan on installing then covering with SLC. The UFH will not be joined up to the mains for perhaps another 2 weeks as the spark is busy working away atm.

I dont see this being a problem aslong as the matting is tested before, during and after installation, and then after a good 2 weeks after floor is finishad and once the sparky is free to slowly worked up to temperature bit by bit...

Just test the electric ufh while tiling on the floor, leave addy to set for 2 weeks minimum and as you say very gradual switch on

Cheers guys, Im sure when i did my course the guy even said that he used to leave his customers unconnected untill he was happy for it to be turned on, and then send a sparky round, that way he had no problems with customers getting excited and turning it up to quickly.

I leave the fuse out and tell them its not been wired up. then when its ready tell them to put the fuse in.
