I charge anything from £20 to £25 for ceramics, Natural stone £30 to £45. The natural stone price is for calibrated stone only, if i have to sort out the thickness this would be a day rate. I only charge by the metre if there is 10 metres plus if less day rate. Kitchen splash backs say, 4 square metres would be £150 plus £15 per power sockets. Door trimming £20 per door. Day rate £150. Hope this helps

Theres so many way of working out a price for a job, and frankly it can get confusing really.
At first I was pricing up on sqm, then changing sqm rates depending on type of tile I would be using, sometimes even what cuts might need doing, but It got silly really so now at the moment I just look at a job and roughly work out how long it will take me and charge my day rates, so if it's a 2 and a half day job, then my day rate x 2.5, much simpler.

I have only ever worked on a day rate.In other words I look at a job and assess how long it will take, taking into consideration what I am working with.If it is a 4 day job then it is £175 x 4 plus materials.I don't charge extra for door trimming or sockets because that will have been taken into account with my day rate.

i live in the Midlands and its getting alot harder to command the prices i want, what with every man and his dog deciding tiling would be a good career! I usually price on m2 ( much the same rates as everybody elses ) and day rate @ £120 per day. Im finding myself advertising further and further away from Birmingham due to how saturated it is around here now. OH well keep plodding on :)
