i live in the Midlands and its getting alot harder to command the prices i want, what with every man and his dog deciding tiling would be a good career! I usually price on m2 ( much the same rates as everybody elses ) and day rate @ £120 per day. Im finding myself advertising further and further away from Birmingham due to how saturated it is around here now. OH well keep plodding on :)
Chin up mate...you could be pro footballer only workin 2 nights and two mornings a week ...lol

I know the feelin Fekin!
Personally, I have a look at the job (and a sample tile if theyve got one) or at least find out what theyre thinking of having, Work out how long it will take, materials cost and any other costs and go from there.
Normal stuff £20-£25 per m2.
Mosaics, little floors (cloakrooms etc) £150 plus mats.
Ive had a few customers who've shown me a sample of what theyre having but when i arrive theyve changed to somethin else like granite! To cover myself ive started putting a statement at the bottom of my written quote which just lets them know if they change to stone, mosaic etc then an extra charge may apply. It really works coz a few have phoned to let me know they changed the tiles and do i need to check for timing and cost.
That way, you can sort your diary out so you dont let the next job down at the last minute.
You wont win every job you look at, theres always someone cheaper about!
Keep it up mate and youll get there, pricing comes with experience.
good luck.
