Tiling to ply

This is a short video I recorded tonight as I had a problem with my shower & had to take 2 tiles off, it lead to half the wall coming down as it was tiled onto ply, don't get me wrong they weren't well fixed but with the thermal expansion within a shower this is what will happen if you tile to ply wood in a wet environment..

Those are still on Mark, well barely on, going to Silicon them back in place till I'm ready for ripping out the full bathroom.
Not the greatest of videos but I'm hoping peeps get the jist of it..

Bit more wrong there than just tiling onto ply Steff . Looks like that crap adhesive/ grout combo. Then applied with a 3mm plastic trowel. The only thing it seems to gave stuck to is the ply!!

I know that Paul, been tiled for years & the only thing holding this together is the Silicon I've stuck on it over the years.
Probably the adhesive had skinned & they tried to stick the tiles onto it then.
The ply certainly doesn't help..

yeh man that chap lee is a great tiler and cares for the job. you can see that in his vids.... stef im amazed that those tiles managed to stay put there is next to zero serration on the back of those tiles it looks like the only thing holding them in place was the Silicon type grout that was originally used lol..... and i know i havnt been on here for ages but is it just you manning the site mate? can only see posts from you lol wheres everyone gone
