Good luck mate, go for it!! If you have the skills there is no point working your *** off to make money for your boss. Just make sure you put money aside for marketing and down time. Always good to work for yourself, however at the end of the day if there is no work on the go there is no money coming in!
All the best, get stuck in :)

In England
You get 3 months to register as self employed

So just go get some work and worry about the rest of the hassle later, Local Gov sites have all the info you need for free

You will need a portfolio of work before anyone will recommend you or take you on, start with as many jobs at home (keeps the wife off your back at least) and for friends etc as poss, but take photo's
Show your portfolio to the local tile shops, it may work ?

Be prepared to work for next to nothing until you get up to speed, my first "real " job I thought I had priced quite high, but ended up taking me much much longer :yikes:

Try and get in with as many other trades as poss, bathroom fitters etc, most hate tiling.

Good luck mate :8:
