Topps Two part flex adhesive to waterproof membrane

Hi, I'm about to tile a small bathroom floor and have been advised by the man at Topps that it's OK to use their 2 part flex adhesive either side of their waterproof membrane.
The original floor is T&G floorboards which appears to be in a solid, stable condition with no perceptable flex.
I suspect one answer would be to overboard with ply prior to tiling but I'm trying to avoid a step at the treshold.
Is the adhesive suggested OK to use either side of a membrane and what type of primer would be used on the floorboards?

would defo still overboard with 12mm ply,better safe than sorry m8,might cause a few probs with the height but with all types of door bars and triming the door a few mills mightr save loads of probs later!

The adhesive recommended was Topps Superflex 2 part flexible adhesive

As long as the floor is deflection free then it will do wot it sez on the bag.....

Good luck....but i would reconsider the anti fracture membrane from topps and get a more suitable one from wetdecs..

It is top quality stuff. The durabase membrane is strong and very thin. You can tile on it straight away - no drying time - and his prices are exellent and if you mention the Tilers Forums you may get an even better price......

The cost for the membrane plus 2 pack rapid set flex adhesive for just 3.3sq m, from Topps, is £124 which seem excessive to me. So I think I'm having a change of mind.
My current thought is to use No More Ply with Mega stick polyurethane adhesive, with screws, and Bal flex adhesive for the tiles. What do you think??

I think Dave was recommending Wetdecs as he has 2 types of membranes the one you was looking at from Topps is a waterproof membrane which is all it does, waterproofs, however if your using it on wooden floorboards then they will expand and contract and the standard waterproof membrane will not cope with a large degree of movement, Wetdecs also does a decoupling membrane which is only 3mm thick and can take a far larger degree of movement.

As its a matting then its really easy to cut with scissors or a utility knife.

It is simply fixed to the wooden floor using either a vinyl adhesive or more commonly a single part flexible adhesive using a 4mm notched trowel firmly press the matting into the adhesive bed and then tile on top of the matting.
