For the first time ever, i was in a, topps, shop today. (we dont have a topps in Fife) I was in Peth today, so thought i would go in to topps for a look. I got talking to one of the guys, friendly guy. i was asking about prices of addy n stuff. He could do me a 20kg bag of rapid flex for about a tenner, but it's Palace addy, not the Bal stuff. Are Palace products any good? He wanted me to open a trade account, but as it's about a 50 mile round trip, thought it was a waste of time.

But you wouldn"t use it as your regular addy

I've used soverign porcelflex and never had a problem but the supplier has just put there price up, for a tenner for the topfix I would use as I'm limited to the addy I can get around my area

If I remember correctly Ed, Palace had a bad problem, not to long ago, Tiles coming de bonded( mainly on ply), and Topps saying that the plywood was probably contaminated. To my knowledge nothing was ever proven, but it has cast a doubt, in my mind, on the quality of their product, so I wouldn/t (personally) use it!:yikes:

To the best of my knowledge I've never had a problem with Palace. (not been tiling as long as Doug though) Not loyal to any one manufacturer when it comes to addy, do the prep and you shouldn't have any problems with any of the 'name' adhesives.

Never had any probs with Palace gear.

i prefer bal but use palace on price sensitive work

ive never had a problem with it

I don't think i'll bother. With a 50 mile round trip, to get it, think i'll stick with the p.c.i stuff. Maybe if they open a shop in Fife, i'll give it a try.

I used the topfix bucket addy until they put bal green star at the same price
