Travertine floor tiles! Help please!

I'm no expert on natural stone, but I know I've fitted a lot of poor quality stone from local tile stores which charge £30 - £40psm but I've also fitted stone bought from Internet for half the price and far better quality. Lots of people fear buying stone as the quality varies from shop to shop!

They send you a sample 100x100mm and expect you to buy from that!
The cost of the bathroom could be from 3-15k and you'll make your choice from a stamp that has been taken from a tile produced 3 years ago and from a part of the quarry that was long exhausted.
You can't go wrong at £15-00 because it will be poor quality, but poor quality at £40-00 is avoidable by using a recommended supplier.
Unless you physically go and check the stock, save your money.

On a more positive note - I often think that some fillers in cheaper Travertine enhance what can often be a bland background, and as long as the material is well fixed, can produce the 'wow' factor.

Lol thanks Dave, spoke to them today and was impressed, prices weren't that much more than tile giant. Not sure if he does any discount for members on here.

I think I might drive up to the showroom and have a look. As I am not 100% sure on what colour I want.

Hello all sorry for digging up a old thread. Just wanted to say I went to perfect home and garden and must say they are very helpful and knowledgeable and didn't try to hard sell . I spent a couple of hours and learnt quite a lot.
