Travertine tiles in a shower. Help needed.

I've moved a little further on with trying to find a tiler for my bathroom. My original tiler has agreed to take out the bath so that he can tile underneath and to tank the shower area, so thank you everyone for helping me with this.

Just waiting for the quote now.

I would ask lithofin for their advise, don't seal before adhesive as you may end up like me with mildew in your tile!

I've replied to your thread re the sealing as I believe that is your choice of adhesive and methods that have caused your problem.

Hi, I have tiled many showers with Travertine, and have never had any problems, as usual, preparation is the key to a successful installation, as far as tanking goes it is imperitive that this is done, and a proper membrane is installed and allowed to dry properly before the Travertine is fixed. there is a sealer that contnues to penetrate the stone for about one month or so after the application depending on the porsity, the quality of Travertine does vary, higher prices do not always reflect the quality.
