You can always use a a piece of plumbers solder and mold to the shape of the loo base etc, then use this as template. I find this a bit easy than paper.
BUt try both and see what does it for you ?

god this is an old thread. Just another suggestion for cutting door frames though: If you lie a spirit level across the closest laid tiles to the frame and have the level across the front of the frame you can mark underneath with a pencil and the line should follow the projection of the tiles perfectly
