Discuss Trowel size for 600x600 floor tiles in the Best Floor Tiles area at TilersForums.com.
If the floor is perfectly flat, the smallest trowel I would use is 10mm notch, I would also back butter the tile. You need to get as near as possible to 100% coverage of adhesive on the back of the tile to insure it is properly fixed. If you lift a tile that you have fixed and you can still see the adhesive notches, then you haven't got sufficient adhesive coverage, so you will need to use a larger notch trowel.Morning All,
I need to lay 600x600x10 ceramic floor tiles. I was wondering what the best trowel size for the job is please?
Thanks for your help

A 20mm half moon trowel, may work but as I said you will need to check some of the tiles once you have fixed them for coverage. Thanks for the help
The floor does run out. Shall I use a 20mm to be safe? Also will a u shaped trowel help with coverage?
Thanks

Thanks Dave. Square or U shaped?I’d be using a 12mm notch and back skim. 20mm is a deep bed imho.
Sqr is fine. Thanks Dave. Square or U shaped?
