tubbed rapid set

just been looking on the Bal website and can't seem to see any rapid setting wall adhesive in tubs. the ones they have seem to take 24 hours to dry. can this be right? surely you're not having to wait a full 24 hours before grouting?

yes daz mate...tubbed dispersion adhesive needs air to dry and this takes time....If you want fastrack tiling then use cement based adhesives.(bagged )..these will set from 2hrs up over........

well simply because some people can't work at the rate you need to with rapid setting adhesives..they only have a limited pot life and then it goes hard..where as the tubbed gear will last for hours and hours....in the tub..if you see what i mean.....lol lol.....some peeps use nothing else but cement based..but it doesnt have the grab factor that some dispersion adhesives do...thats none slip to me and you......lol lol....

You need a good tubbed adhesive if you are using small tiles with lots of cuts round sockets, wundows and units in kitchens. You can only use a little at a time so a ready use tub is handy.

Depends on the application and type, mate. Dispersions usually neutralize movement in the substrate more effectively than cement based adhesives. They're usually more resistant to strong chemicals as well.
