two floors

hello everyone.

i have a floor to tile 20 m2 with porcelain tiles 400*400. it`s a dining room and conservatory. conservatory will be build in a week time. the floor in conservatory will be screeded same level as in dining room and customer wants the tiles flow through. i told the customer that screed need to be dry about 3-4 weeks. will it be ok to tile the whole floor or should I break for expansion gap where to floors are met? there are no ufh

UFH or not I'd put an expansion where they meet

Expansion gap should be left where the two floors meet, and you could tile with Bal Green Screed a week after the floor is down if there's urgency on the job.

The lengths of expansion can look a bit crude in a domestic situation, hard to beat a bit of matched Silicon.

Expansion joint fitted between rooms. Note that the off-cut of the tile is carried through into the next room. You will need to allow for this when setting out.

Is there likely to be too much movement for Ditra, in this situation? Just curious, as 9 times out of 10, customers don't want an expansion gap.

I'd go for a Silicon filled joint too. With luck, you might find it works out ok if you set out with a full tile from the join between the dining room and conservatory.

I can't go for ditra, cause the customer will have same tiles as the existing floor and would like the same level throughout.

Oh sorry, I thought the floors were being levelled than both tiles together.. I'd still like to know everyone's thoughts though..
