Hi, I have been fitting 30x60 porcelain tiles in a large downstairs toilet. Currently I am using an erburer wet saw.

Overall this is OK however firstly it is a pain to set up to get a staight cut and secondly and more importantly due to the size of the tiles and the fact the walls aren't quite straight some of the cuts on the end next to the trims need to be at a slight angle. i.e. after cutting the top of the tile will measure 450mm and the button woudl be 455mm, I have tried to cut these freehand on the saw I currently have but, the finish is not great.

Due to this I have been looking at either getting either a bench saw where the tile stays staionary and the saw moves or I have looked at getting a handheld wet saw I can use with a guide like the DeWalt DWC410 or the Ryobi LTS180M.

Any thoughts anyone?

Regards,
Simon

cant u use a manual cutter for straight cuts. cutters have a tollerance on the guides like most things eg spirit level 0.5mm/m, seems the one you have is faulty like mine, can you not ajust accordingly to achieve a straight cut.
wish i had the money for the dewalt tho not heard a bad review on the d24000 yet!!!:drool5:

Windows is fine as I have create a shelf just below it.. didn't fancy tiling up to is as it is round! The problem I have is that there are a couple of pieces of wall that jut out into the room as the have waste pipes from the room above, it is these that the original builder/plaster appears to have had problems understaning the concept of being vertical :) Also I am only tiling 1200mm (ish) up the walls so I have to be careful if I build up anything as the trims accross the tops will look a little strange. I am using bagged (cement based) adhesive.
