Hi all,

Been doing lots of digging around for information on this forum and there's lots of v useful advice (thanks to all!)

We already have central heating in the kitchen and am only interested in electric UFH purely to take the edge off the cold tiles on the odd occasion during winter months.

Given that the kitchen is about to be ripped out and replaced, we're contemplating putting in a basic electric UFH system onto the concrete floor - same old problem with levels. We'd really prefer not to increase the levels and are contemplating just putting the UFH straight onto the concrete floor (well, ok, there's a skim of self levelling compound there on top of the concrete.) without insulation boards.

Given the intentions of limited use (so running costs is not really an issue for us) - is such an installation likely (~150W/m2) to work effectively enough to just take the edge off cold tiles for an hour or so in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening? (the floor space to cover is UFH only 7m2)
