Ufh on either chipboard or tongue and groove

Hi
i am new to installing ufh onto chipboard and tongue and groove floor. I would use 6mm hardi backer board then Ufh mat, it's the next bit I'm slightly unfamiliar with. I'm not sure what latex leveller to use? Do you just pour it on? And do you have to seal the edges of the hardi backer board around the room?

You have to make sure the floor is sound before you start. I would use Marmox type insulation boards rather than hardie, 10mm would be better than 6mm. I use Webber Floorflex over ufh. Pour it slowly and help it around with a trowel. If you want to create a dam to stop the slc running where you dont want it you could use offcuts of the insulation boards.

Thanks for your advice rookery and Keith. Would bal fibrebase be okay for putting over heat mat. I can't get hold of webber products.

Not used it myself but yes it appears to be ok as per BAL Adhesives - Products - Fibrebase

I just noticed it comes in 20kg bags. If like me you're used to a 25kg bag then a) you'll run out and b) it'll cost you more. Nice one BAL.

I guess if you start with one size bag, you always have that figure in you head.
