Hi, got a wet room to do soon , when the floor is level with the deck , then the ufh goes down, on a normal floor i would use slc but what do i do in this case as the deck is preformed ? do you just have to bed over it with the addy or am i missing something?
Not sure if its wire or mesh ufh but i dont think that would matter either way,
Any advice welcome

When I lay electric UFH I tend to fix it 1st with a fast set flexible adhesive to keep the wires down! Then overscreed with Fibreplan.
I never take the electric wires into the preformed area of a wetromm only on the flat.
Most wet rooms tend to have a glass panel seperating the shower area from the rest of the room and care is needed for this fixing !
I always make a plan of the UFH set up/sensor position and leave it with the manual.

Same as me, you only need a small notch trowel to do this especially with matting.

I was aked once to take UFH onto the former and after checking with Impey and Devi i went ahead..no call backs over 2 years now

So would you finish the floor about 3mm below the lip of the former to allow for the ufh and slc to bring it up level

I'd probably finish it 5-6mm below Kev, to make sure I've got a decent SLC covering over UFH:thumbsup:

I will leave the finished floor height the same as the preformed tray height!
This way you can take any tanking material from the flat floor area onto the tray and ensure a watertight finish.
The additional height from the area around the tray (with ufh and screed) will just provide a increase in the gradient into the trap.

yep, I missed the bit about the preformed tray😳I assumed you were tiling into the enclosure:thumbsup: but stopping ufh at the enclosure

Hi John - same method as we do and never use UFH on or near the deck. No point as its warm in few seconds once the water starts.

Tell me John, where do you get your Fibreplan SLC for covering wires.

Thanks in advance

Richard

Mapei Fibreplan - all good tile outlets.
In the North its Tiles North East or Westerhope Tiles Centre.
