Hello everybody a builder mate of mine wants to know if it's possible to lay Devimat onto Kingspan?

Customer has existing concrete floor in hallway/bathroom and tiled floor onto concrete in kitchen, builder plans to install battens 500mm apart onto floor with Kingspan in between and then lay floorboards on top, is it possible to lay the devimat down each run directly onto the Kingspan and also would the heat come through the floorboards sufficiently?

Thanks, Jamie.

the mat would have to be on top of the floor to be tiled, from what your describing is it a floating floor?

if so then this can open up a whole new can of worms..

Oh sorry i should have said, there will be no tiling involved, just bare floorboards.

I know that's a weird question for tiling forum but thought someone would know more about UFH on here.

Possible but very inefficient

There are other ways to do it that would none more efficient. Wet system would be better with a thin screed to give thermal mass.

Not sure if that's gonna be possible or has been factored into plans on this job, will relay answers though and let them decide, thanks.
